Why DTC brands add native
Meta ad prices have climbed year after year, and most brands hit a ceiling on Google once they've captured search demand. Native reaches a different moment: people reading the news who aren't shopping yet. With the right advertorial or listicle, that discovery turns into first-time buyers at a cost you can live with.
Products that do well on native
Products with a story and a clear benefit win. Categories that tend to do well include comfort apparel and footwear, sleep and home goods, health devices like hearing aids, supplements, beauty for women over 45, gadgets and pet products. If your product needs a few paragraphs to explain why it's better, native is a good fit. If it sells on impulse from a single image, social may stay your main channel.
How we build DTC funnels
- The ad. A headline and image that earn a click from someone who wasn't looking for your product.
- The pre-sell. An advertorial, listicle or founder story that explains the problem, the product and the proof, then hands off to your product page with the promise intact.
- The offer. A landing page or product page that matches the pre-sell, with an offer strong enough to convert a cold reader.
- The data. Purchase and revenue tracking back to each network, so we optimize on ROAS, not clicks.
What you need to be ready
A proven product that's already profitable on at least one paid channel, margins that can absorb a learning phase, and enough budget to run a fair test on at least one network. If you're not there yet, we'll tell you.
Common questions
How is native different from Facebook ads for e-commerce?
Native reaches people while they read publisher sites, not while they scroll social. It usually takes a pre-sell page to convert those readers, but the audience and costs are different from Meta, which is why it works as a second growth channel.
Which native network is best for DTC?
Taboola usually has the most volume. Teads (Outbrain) adds premium publishers, MediaGo adds Yahoo and MSN supply, and NewsBreak reaches older, suburban buyers. Most brands start on one and expand.
Do you write the advertorials?
Yes. Ads, advertorials and listicles are part of what we do. Custom landing page development can be quoted separately.
